The UMERG Mission Statement

UMERG is a group of rocketeers that have banded together with a common cause. We are able to do things as a group that would otherwise be impossible for the individual to accomplish on their own. The following is a list of what we do and what we plan to accomplish together as a team, our mission statement.

• Promote large projects for national and local launches, this includes but is not limited to launches like BALLS, LDRS as well as our local launches.
• Provide tutorage to those wishing to be involved in activities like research motor making and testing. We have a broad knowledge base with which to accomplish this as well as the test equipment and facilities to build and test motors all the way up to P class.
• Protect our members from the scrutiny of regulatory agencies by keeping abreast of regulations and maintaining a safe legal place to do their research and experimentation.
• Sponsor these large projects and research activities with the resources of the group and travel together to the national events where we participate.
• Encourage the spread of research rocketry here in the upper Midwest and across the country through word of mouth and participation at national events. We want to show the world that rocketry is educational, safe and most of all fun.
• Support each other through comradely and the comfort of being in a group. We are all in this organization for the same purpose (Rocketry) and we spend a lot of time doing it together, so we do provide a network of friends.
• Most importantly have fun while accomplishing our mission.
